Frequently asked questions
Is there a free plan?
Yes — HelloTime is permanently free for up to 1 employees, with no time limit and no credit card. Free covers manual attendance, leave and shift basics. GPS geofence, kiosk mode and productivity tracking ship on the paid plans; face recognition is an early-access pilot on those plans. Paid from ₹79/seat/month billed yearly (₹99 billed monthly).
How does the free trial work?
Every paid plan gets a 7-day full-feature trial — no credit card. After day 7, your workspace either picks a paid plan or falls back to the permanent Free plan (capped at 1 employees). Your data is never deleted automatically.
Can I get a discount for a larger team?
Yes — and we publish the discount table on the pricing page so you don't have to call sales. Volume discounts start at 10% off for 11–25 seats and go up to 35% off for 501+ seats. Pay yearly to save another 20%.
Does HelloTime work offline?
Yes. The desktop apps track time offline and sync automatically when you reconnect. The mobile app caches clock-in events and uploads when network returns. Your team never loses an hour.
Are screenshots mandatory?
No. Screenshots, activity levels and app/URL tracking are all optional per project and per user, with clear indicators to your team. You stay in control.
How long are screenshots and activity history kept?
Track keeps 60 days of screenshot history; Business keeps 2 years. After that, screenshots are deleted automatically — purpose-limited under DPDP 2023 and GDPR. Need longer for a labour dispute or audit? Business plans can place a per-user legal hold to preserve evidence indefinitely.
Can HelloTime run my payroll?
Yes, on the Business plan. HelloTime pays employees and contractors by tracked hours and attendance using UPI, Razorpay, bank transfer, PayPal, Wise or Payoneer, and generates payslips. India statutory deductions (TDS, PF, ESI, PT, LWF) are in private beta with production rollout in flight, and Form 24Q + FVU export is still to come — so do not buy Business today for statutory filing alone.
Can I mix Attend and Track seats on one bill?
Not today — plans apply to the whole workspace, so a team with both floor staff and office staff picks Business, which includes everything in Attend and everything in Track. That is a real premium over buying either one alone, so the pricing page has a plan picker that shows what a mixed team actually costs before you get to the matrix. If per-seat plan assignment matters to you, tell us — it is the most requested packaging change we track.

Is my data secure?
Yes. HelloTime is hosted on Microsoft Azure with 256-bit encryption in transit and at rest, GDPR-ready, DPDP-compliant, with optional custom data residency in the Azure region of your choice on the Business plan. Our SOC 2 Type II audit is in progress and ISO 27001 is planned — the trust centre publishes both statuses as they stand, not as we would like them to be.
