Tracking should earn its keep
Time tracking only matters if it produces a payroll line, an invoice, or a clearer answer about where the team's time went. We design every feature against that test.
Tracking principles
Six principles that shape every product decision at HelloTime — from how we collect activity data to how a tracked hour becomes a paid invoice.
Time tracking only matters if it produces a payroll line, an invoice, or a clearer answer about where the team's time went. We design every feature against that test.
Screenshots are opt-in per project. Activity scores are visible to the person being tracked. There are no covert keystroke loggers and no behaviour scoring you can't see for yourself.
A timer the team forgets to start is worse than no timer at all. We invest in offline tracking, idle detection, and gentle nudges so what gets recorded is real, not approximate.
GST invoices, TDS deductions, DPDP data residency, and the GDPR and SOC 2 controls behind our in-progress Type II audit are first-class citizens — built into the data model, not retrofitted on a shipping label.
Productivity reports surface to the individual before they surface to a manager. The goal is self-correction, not surveillance dashboards.
A tracked hour flows into timesheets, payroll, and the GST invoice without re-entry. If the data has to be re-typed, we treat it as a bug.
