Frequently asked questions

Is there a free plan?

Yes — HelloTime is permanently free for up to 5 employees, with no time limit and no credit card. Free covers manual attendance, leave and shift basics. Face recognition, GPS geofence, kiosk mode and productivity tracking ship on the paid plans, starting at £1.99 per user / month for Attend.

How does the free trial work?

Every paid plan gets a 7-day full-feature trial — no credit card. After day 7, your workspace either picks a paid plan or falls back to the permanent Free plan (capped at 5 employees). Your data is never deleted automatically.

Can I get a discount for a larger team?

Yes — and we publish the discount table on the pricing page so you don't have to call sales. Volume discounts start at 10% off for 11–25 seats and go up to 35% off for 501+ seats. Pay yearly to save another 20%.

Does HelloTime work offline?

Yes. The desktop apps track time offline and sync automatically when you reconnect. The mobile app caches clock-in events and uploads when network returns. Your team never loses an hour.

Are screenshots mandatory?

No. Screenshots, activity levels and app/URL tracking are all optional per project and per user, with clear indicators to your team. You stay in control.

How long are screenshots and activity history kept?

Track keeps 60 days of screenshot history; Pro keeps 180 days; Business keeps 2 years. After that, screenshots are deleted automatically — purpose-limited under DPDP 2023 and GDPR. Need longer for a labour dispute or audit? Business plans can place a per-user legal hold to preserve evidence indefinitely.

Can HelloTime run my payroll?

Yes, on the Business plan. HelloTime pays employees and contractors by tracked hours and attendance using UPI, Razorpay, bank transfer, PayPal, Wise or Payoneer. India payroll statutory deductions (TDS, PF, ESI, PT, LWF) and Form 24Q + FVU export are coming soon.

Can I mix plans across one team?

Not within a single tenancy — pick the plan that covers the highest-need employee. Most factory + office teams pick Pro (Attend + Track combined). Pure deskless teams pick Attend; pure desk teams pick Track. Business adds payroll on top of Pro.
